Cukil is a traditional tool used to mix cooked rice in the Kampung Naga community. Cukil belongs to the group of post-cooking tools, meaning it is used after the rice has fully cooked. It appears specifically in the stage called diakeul, which is the process of gently stirring the cooked rice while fanning it to reduce steam and make the rice softer and fluffier.

Functions of Cukil in the Rice-Cooking Process:
1. Stirring cooked rice (diakeul)
Cukil is used to slowly mix the cooked rice so that it becomes more tender and evenly textured.
2. Part of local craftsmanship
The tool reflects the traditional knowledge of Kampung Naga residents in crafting household utensils from natural materials like wood or bamboo.
3. Holds cultural and symbolic meaning
The diakeul process (which uses the cukil) is also connected to cultural beliefs, such as honoring Dewi Sri, the rice goddess who symbolizes fertility and prosperity.
